Cashier/Task Associate Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in October 2011.
Interview Details – Most of the process is done online or over the phone. The initial application process and personality questionnaire are huge as to whether or not you make it further. The questions are confusing for a reason and their metrics are specific to a type of person they are looking for. After that, its a phone interview. Mostly to weed out the less desirable. If you make it through all that you get a in-person. Thats when you know. Standard forms and employment on-boarding after that assuming you get the nod.

Cashier/Task Associate Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in April 2013.
Interview Details – One interview was with a manger to discuss past experience and what you would do in hypothetical scenarios. The second interview is done when they decide that your hired; starting wage and availability is discussed.
Interview Question – Explain a situation in which you offered great customer service. Answer Question
Cashier/Task Associate Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in November 2013.
Interview Details – The people there are very nice and very professional. They greeted me with a smile which made me feel even better/comfortable, (this was my first interview ever). It was hard for me to really let my personality shine through because she talked a lot and my head would go blank as soon as she asked a question. But it was overall a great experience.

Cashier/Task Associate Interview (Neutral Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in October 2012.
Interview Details – I filled out an online application at 1 A.M. and got a call the next afternoon to set up an interview. It was a group interview.General Manager conducted interview and Presige Manager sat in and had a mini interview after.A lot of questions about examples of bad and good customer service. Received a call before noon from the manager a few days later (I missed the call) called him back around 2P.M. and was told he left for the day. I called him back early afternoon the next day and was treated rudely.He said he had called to offer me a position,but he couldn't talk now and I had to wait for him to call (sounded so sarcastic but I don't know the guy) I tried to find out when he was going to call and he said oh maybe next week....never heard back.Don't really want to work for an unprofessional, overly emotional person. The Prestige Manager was professional and really nice. The rest of the staff seemed nice too. Seems like a fun environment to work in...normally. Also since its not in a mall there is plenty of parking and easy access for employees. Hint dress code is all black -you can have a white tank peeking out.

Cashier/Task Associate Interview (Negative Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in February 2012.
Interview Details – First interview was a group interview. Questions were basic: why do you want to work here, tell us about any relevant experience, etc. Second interview was between myself, a supervisor, and a manager. Basically the same questions but a little more detailed.
Interview Question – It wasn't difficult for me, but one of the questions could be difficult for someone with little or no job experience: "Tell us about a time you had to appease a difficult customer." Answer Question
Very Easy Interview

Interview Details – I applied online, then I got a call for an interview. She asked what experience I had with work and people. Then she called me the next day and offered me the job as a temp.

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in October 2012.
Interview Details – I received a call from the hiring manager; she asked me a few questions over the phone before setting up a first interview. First interview was very straightforward with situational questions. About a week later I received a call for a second interview. After that interview was such a success, I was surprised when I didnt hear back from them within the timeframe they had given me. I called and spoke to the hiring manager just to see if the position was still avaliable. She assured me that the decision had still not been made and if I was chosen, I would be phoned within the next few days. Thankfully, I was offered a job a few days later.

Interview Details – It took a couple weeks until I actually got a call back. I was called in for a group interview with four to five other people. We were asked simple question such as your best and worst customer service experience. She also asked to tell her about ourselves and gave us an opportunity to ask her questions.
