I interviewed online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in September 2011.

    Interview Details

I came for the interview and the manager asked for details on the experience I had at my last job and in school. She reviewed my resume and flipped through my portfolio, then went straight into talking about the days and hours I could work. She especially wanted more information about my experience with the Redken color line.

I interviewed through other source - interviewed at Ulta Beauty.

    Interview Details

The initial process was pretty simple. The store used Craigslist to promote submitting an application online for available positions in their locations, they contacted me quickly, I had indicated I was seeking full-time employment. They were happy with m nervier and indicated that I would have to bring in a model and perform a color service and a haircut FOR FREE in order to demonstrate my skills. So I did. Then they called saying they had a schedule for me of 22 hours a week! Acted like I should jump on this meager part time job with me applying for a full time position with 13 years of experience. I'm sorry but that is rude to string a professional along through this process then it isn't even a position that could be considered a livelihood. It is pathetic and a reflection of the quality of the management and leadership of this company.

    Reasons for Declining

I haven't had the chance to decline because the salon manager is brow beating me for talking to the store manager sincevthecsalon manager had a day off. Tuesday night offer, I wanted to think because thy spring on me it was part time, Wednesday salon mgr off i arranged the Friday meeting to come to do the new hire paperwork as was mentioned, thursday store mgr off I called salon mgr to sayi would give it a try and since he was off I went ahead and checked on a time to be there on Friday knowing the store mgr was off Thursday, Friday I called to see if I should still come and they were supposed to call back and let me know. Non call back since I was not sure I went ahead and showed up at the salon. It gave me a chance to see the place in action. The salon manager is wound really tight and does not handle pressure well. He could have simply said we cannot meet with you today. But instead kept a cloud of confusion to punish a situation that he felt was stepping on his toes when intact he had mentioned talking to he store manager about a time for Friday. How else would I have known all of their days off. Fact is they have repeatedly treated me like my time is of absolutely no value or importance.

I interviewed through other source. The process took 4 months - interviewed at Ulta Beauty in May 2012.

    Interview Details

I originally applied in january after being told that they were going to begin hiring soon. i filled out an application on line and called to follow up the next week. The general manager said they were going to send my resume to the district manager and would call me to let me know approximate start date. i call the following week and the GM says he has no record of me applying. I re apply . Then ,call to follow up the next week and they say they are not hiring, WTH. Then 3 weeks later i get a phone call asking me to come to an interview in 2 weeks. over all i would say this location is poorly ran. I seems to have a revolving door for management and no one knows whats going on. Definitely not the store for me.
