    Interview Questions

    • Almost all of the questions were behavioral. (Strength/weakness, greatest accomplishment, etc.) Interview itself is not hard but there is a lot of competition for only a few spots.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Unilever (Englewood, NJ) in October 2012.

    Interview

Phone interview followed by all day interviews in Englewood cliffs. The phone interview was after I applied through my university's job board. I interviewed w two alums from my school, so that helped establish a cordial atmosphere. The questions were not difficult, mostly personality type.

    Interview Questions

    • The questions were not technical at all. Very few finance-y questions. Most of the questions were about teamwork--they really want to gauge how well you work w others.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Unilever (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) in November 2010.

    Interview

I joined through their MBA recruiting process. As a non-core applicant, my first interview was a 30-minute phone interview. From there, I was invited to the office for a "Superday" with ~20 other MBA student applicants. The "Superday" process involved a recruiting dinner the night before, a group case study (~6 people) that included a group presentation at the end, and three 1-on-1 interviews with managers or directors.

    Interview Questions

    • Tell me about a time you worked with a challenging group member.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

They do not negotiate MBA student offers. I attempted multiple times to negotiate different terms and was consistently rebutted.

    Interview

The company really seemed nice in the beginning. I had a phone interview which looking back was my best experience during the process. About a week later got word I was moving on to the final round. While there they treated us to dinner and conversation and the next day we interviewed. I had three interviews and a case that the candidates worked on (There were 5 of us.).

Didn't get selected which is fine but I really detested their unprofessional treatment post-interview. At the end of the day I had asked in a group setting if it was possible to get feedback if we were not selected. The VP of HR said sure if we email her after we get the decision she will round up the responses from the interviewers. Still haven't got it. Then on the day we were suppose to hear I called in the afternoon. The HR guy who had been so nice during the process answered the phone and thought I was someone else. Than I asked about my status he got defensive and curt and said he didn't have one. Which was a lie because I had heard from the candidate who got the offer. Three hours later I got the rejection email

They didn't even have the decency of calling and saying we are not selecting you. Just sent some some impersonal email from Deloitte with one person introducing themselves and another name signing the email. Priceless.

Looks like I dodged a bullet.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Unilever (Schaffhausen (Switzerland)).

    Interview

hiring process seems pretty standard: I applied for the position through Unilever job portal, got contacted by HR (30 min checklist-syle phone interview, mainly checking candidate background against job description + attitude), if successful then interview with somebody described as "hiring manager"( 2nd interview), if successful then his boss (3rd interview), if successful then his boss (4th interview). nobody used scripted interview question, so each person used his own style, lower management levels were more interested in job approach, and experience, higher management more interested in ambition, commitment, attitude.
no formal feedback has been given during the whole process, which is pretty frustrating.

During all the process, HR is more or less useless: I got wrong details about the position I interviewed for, I was told wrong information about the roles of people I was about to talk to, they are unable to convey feedback (at least in one occasion I got the impression that the HR person I was talking to had no idea of what to say so decided to improvise). As far as my experience, HR role is to do the initial screening, telling you that the proposed salary is non negotiable, and then organizing meeting.

    Interview Questions

    • carefully read the job description as HR will check your resume against that. during interviews usual question: strengths/weaknesses, summary of previous experience, sector experience   Answer Question
