    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Milwaukee, WI) in June 2015.

    Interview

I applied the telephonic RN Case Manager position in early May. Received an email a few weeks later inviting me to self-identify. I completed the self-identification and immediately was sent an email that I was chosen to interview and should use the link provided to schedule. I did so and a few days before the scheduled interview I received a reminder email. The HR representative called around 10 minutes after the scheduled time and apologized for being late stating the interview before me went late. Completely understandable since it appears they schedule on the half hour. The interview was fairly basic, I was asked to go through my job history and experience as it relates to the job I'd applied for. The HR interviewer was very candid and explained to me that she would be forwarding my application and notes from our talk to the hiring manager however from the other candidates she had spoken to she felt my experience was "light". I appreciated her transparency and honesty. She also said that if I did not hear anything by the end of the following week I could call her and she'd find out what was up. I did not hear anything by the following Friday, so the next Monday I left her a voice message and she called me back Tuesday to inform me I was chosen to receive a second interview and would be hearing from the hiring manager soon. This interview lasted less than 30 minutes. I heard from the hiring manager later that week and we scheduled an interview for the upcoming Monday. The hiring manager called at the appropriate time on Monday and we had a wonderful conversation. She did a great job of discussing the company culture as well as specifics regarding the position. She had a few of the standard questions for me as well. This interview was an hour and a half long, which surprised me but I felt it went really well. Sadly, I received an email a week later that I was no longer being considered for the position.

    Interview

I had one interview with this company and found it to be a pleasant experience. The recruiter called for a short interviwe, set up with the hiring manager and got back in touch within two days. The time between acceptance of the position and actual start date was prolong by the company. The hiring process can be lengthy.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Greensboro, NC) in June 2014.

    Interview

Applied online, never heard back; same position was posted a month later and I again applied online, this 2nd time I received a call 2 days after applying from a recruiter who set up a time for a phone call HR interview; HR phone interview was somewhat stiff-information gathering, confirming what I did at previous jobs and why I left my last job, asked me why I was interested in a career with case management and then gave me 1 behavioral question (name a time you had to make a critical decision and you didn't have enough info to make that decision, what I did and how it turned out); the next morning the local hiring manager called me to schedule the face to face interview...did face to face in the morning, that afternoon I was called by HR with a job offer..

    Interview Questions

    • Face to face was mainly telling me about the position and then several behavioral questions; 2 interviewers present, both laid back and friendly; name a time you upset a coworker or boss-what did you do and what happened; name a time you went above and beyond your duties to help a patient; name something career oriented that you're proud of (award, certificate), name a time you disagreed with a policy and didn't really follow it   1 Answer

    Negotiation

HR called me with the salary and benefits package they wanted to offer me and asked how it sounded; honestly, I had an "acceptable" number (low), an "ideal" number ($5k above acceptable) and an "I wish" number ($5k above ideal) that I had in my head...their offer was OVER my "I wish" number and benefits were excellent (PTO)...I didn't even try to negotiate, I was thrilled! :)

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Cameron, WV) in May 2013.

    Interview

Received an email from the recruiter assistant to set-up an interview online. Had an interview with the recruiter. She was not very friendly during the interview. She told me to call the following Tuesday if I hadn't heard from the recruiter. I called an left her a message to which I received a very nasty voicemail back stating that she and the hiring manager had been off for several days and that she had told me to call later on in the week. Needless to say I never called her back to follow up.
