Research Assistant Professor Interview

Research Assistant Professor
Houston, TX

I applied through other source and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at University of Houston in January 2010.

Interview Details – They just contact you and tell you that you need to come for an interview and then just like meet Dr. Renu Khator. Khator then she just checks out other candidates and then she approves if there are not any other smart candidates.

Interview Question – There are no unexpected question but Khator has a test that you need to take. Each test is determined by the candidate's year of experience.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I didn't need to negotiate. I planned out everything before applying for the position.

I applied through college or university and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at University of Houston in January 2014.

Interview Details – Note: this was at the law school. It was kind of a no-brainer, honestly, because I'd already taken two classes and knew the hiring professor well, plus I'd done well in his classes and made a point of being an active class participant. I don't know if he even interviewed anyone else, and I got the job.

Interview Question – The only difficult question was determining when I could work for him amidst all my other myriad school responsibilities.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – I got a better offer in the interim.
