I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at Urban Outfitters in September 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online and then about a 2 days later they sent me an email to do a video interview. It was unexpected but kind of fun. Then about 4 days later I completed there survey. Then I got an email 2 day later about a group interview. The date on the interview was wrong, it said Wednesday 9/9 instead of Wednesday 9/10.If I didn't see the email I wouldn't have made it, because they sent it the day before one the 9th. The interview was okay, the manager didn't have any information about use. So mentally I'm thinking how can you hire two people when you don't have any of their information. Nor did she ask for our information afterwards.

    Interview Details

I applied online and they called me the next day for a group interview.. The group interview was a little overwhelming because there were about 10 or so people and they were more group interviews scheduled that day... They asked questions like "Whats your style?" and "what are your passions in life?"

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Urban Outfitters in May 2013.

    Interview Details

I applied online and received an email inviting me to a group interview. It was relaxed and they ask typical job interview questions, and personal style questions. I received a call back interview and came back for a one on one interview with basically the same questions. It was pretty laid back and they didn't seem too concerned with experience.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Urban Outfitters in June 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online back in June for a Sales Associate position at 86th street and about a few hours later I got an email asking me to fill out this questionnaire which was apart of the interview process.

A day later I got another email asking me to attend an group interview the following day. The group interview was conducted by the Visuals Manager and the Men's Floor Manager.
I attended and the interview was pretty simple. It was about 9 of us interviewing and we all got an opportunity to speak (the best thing is try to be the 2nd or third person to speak and make sense of what your saying). It was pretty laid back, but we all wanted the job so we rambled on a lot.

We were told we would receive an email later in the day if they were moving on with the second part. I received an email asking to come in for another interview with the General Manager and I did. This was a 1 on 1 interview and much better than the group. He asked simple questions like "Why Urban", "Do you know about Loss Prevention", "Interesting facts about myself" etc etc.

He had me list my references since Urban calls your references to make sure everything checks out. I gave him 2 references and left. The following day I called the store to give them other references since the ones I listed before had their numbers changed prior. The Manager I spoke with took down my new references and told me I should hear back in a day or so.

It's now July and I haven't heard anything back so its safe to say I didn't get the job, but it was a total waste of time. Why give me a second interview just to not hire me? Ridiculous.

Applied online, and about two days later received an e-mail asking to do an interview through an app called HireVue, which is where I messed up. It was honestly such a weird way of doing things, I wasn't used to it, and I just didn't feel comfortable using it. I would've rather did an in-person interview, but oh well. I interviewed through it, and did the best I could.

I was reached by email to come in on a certain date for a group interview, and for the second interview was emailed then called. Well, the manager claimed she emailed us, but I didn't get anything. I ended up being called to come in literally a day before the interview. The process overall was laid back but it felt more like they were looking to fit an image rather than find good people.

I applied through other source - interviewed at Urban Outfitters in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I didn't apply online like others did, I just saw on craigslist that they were having and open interview. I went and i was nervous as hell. This was m first interview, I have no job experience at all, and I'm still a hs student. The questions were nothing similar to the ones on this site. Except the one they all ask you which is Why UO. My interview didn't go as good as i wanted it to for me personally. The majority of the time they asked questions that job experienced people could answer. And my group was really huge with about 9 people so yeah. i just say if your like me with no experience and they ask you about customer service just tell them what you would do. Don't be quiet like I was even if you can t relate to the question act like you have and answer. and this was yesterday

    Interview Questions
    • none of the questions were hard. But i couldn't really answer them because they were for people who have worked before. like What was your worst and best job and How do you handle/react when you have an anger customer and how to time mange things at work everything was job related and they didn't even care about my clothes or wanted to know about my personality. But it was a fun experience and the group I was with made it really fun. Some guy just strolled in and said is this an interview and when i said yes he said "why not i'm not doing anything else better"   View Answer

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Urban Outfitters.

    Interview Details

I applied online, maybe two weeks later received notification that I would participate in an online interview. This is intended to make you feel comfortable and truly express who you are without the nerves. The first thing in the video interview was to run and grab paper and draw a picture. Some other questions were to describe your style and taste in music, some job history and education history (where you went - high schools, colleges, etc.). The final question was what is one item you can't live without - be creative and have fun with this one. All questions have a time limit so you to ramble on. A day after I was given an ethics test. Less than a week after that I scheduled a time for a group interview. I wore wide leg fabric pants in a tribal pattern with a simple top and wedges. Try to wear something daring and trending - aka kimono, dressed up romper, something to show you have that out of the box style. Don't get worked up about it or you'll be nervous and have artificial answers. After the interview I had to tell the interviewee I would only be able to work for a month before I moved. He said they were rooting for me to do well and was disappointed by this news. Basically I would've very likely been hired otherwise.
