Technician, Lab Support Interview

Technician, Lab Support
King of Prussia, PA

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at VWR International in May 2014.

Interview Details – Applied through the internet, got asked to schedule a phone interview within the same day. The website for scheduling they use is convenient. The recruiter explained the job position in detail. All the questions were typical interview questions, no specific lab questions were asked.

Interview Question – Most difficult question to answer was whether I was alright with the low salary they were offering.   Answer Question

Onsite Coordinator Interview

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at VWR International in April 2014.

Interview Details – The process is slow. I applied in September, got a phone interview in October, then a face to face in Novemer, but the position was put on hold. There was no communication after that. I had to call to find out what was going on. I was then informed that the position was on hold.

Interview Question – Questions were normal interview questions. The Manager put me at ease and was a nice guy to talk to.   Answer Question

Sales Representative Interview

Interviewed at VWR International

Interview Details – I applied online, and had a phone interview in about a week. The questions weren't tough, just generic: What is the quality you look most for in a company, what are you most proud of that you did in the past year and why, etc, etc.

I did not receive the position, but I suspect it was because I did not follow up after the interview.

Interview Question – None of them were difficult or unexpected, just generic.   Answer Question

VWR-Sales Associate-government Job Interview

VWR-Sales Associate-government Job

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at VWR International.

Interview Details – Asked questions about my experiences with VWR, A time that I have had to negotiate, and how successful I was at the negotiation. Why I chose VWR and What brought me to search for a job in general in the first place. It was extremely uncomfortable for me. It was the first interview I have had in ten years. I felt like they were not trying to get to know me but more like trying to give me a root canal.

Interview Question – What is an example of a time that you messed up on the job. Pick one VWR product that you like and give us three examples of how you would sell the product to a potential customer.   Answer Question

Inside Sales Position Interview

Inside Sales Position
Suwanee, GA

I applied online - interviewed at VWR International in January 2013.

Interview Details – Phone interview first to weed out people before the face to face interview is set up. Pretty standard interview questions beginning with the traditional "Tell me about yourself" and then followed up with common behavioral type questions regarding the type of position you are applying for

Interview Question – Nothing really too unexpected, just be sure to have some answers in mind for the behavioral questions. Always give examples to back up your answer   Answer Question

Copywriter Interview

I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at VWR International.

Interview Details – Was first contacted by phone. An interview was set up for the next week. The interview took place in two parts: one with the department and one with the VP. The VP's questions were very direct and rapid by design. There was no attempt to get to know me or vice versa. These actions told me enough about the work environment to know that I would not choose them as an employer. At the end of the interview, I thanked them for their time but that the position was not a good fit for me after all.

Pricing Coordinator Interview

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at VWR International in July 2012.

Interview Details – Hiring process took a LONG time, seemed pretty unorganized. After 3 rounds of interviews, no one bothered to call me back saying I didn't get the job. I got an email 2 months later informing me.

Interview Question – The questions we really quite relaxed, and it was more of a 'get to know you' situation. Not bad at all.   Answer Question

I applied online and interviewed at VWR International.

Interview Details – Had a phone interview--I have to say she wasn't very friendly or talkative, just asked her list of questions and when I answered there was no conversation at all. I was told I would hear by phone or e-mail in two weeks. Never heard by phone and it was three weeks later that I received a thank you but no thank you.

Interview Question – No unusual questions.   Answer Question

IT Manager Interview

IT Manager
Radnor, PA

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at VWR International in November 2010.

Interview Details – Initial phone interview with technical recruiter. Follow-up phone interview with hiring manager. Face to face marathon interview with HR, hiring manager, 2 peers of hiring manager, potential subordinates, would be peers. The subordinate interview included a junior employee whom offered a weak attempt at grilling me. It was his first job in the industry. Exhausting 4+ hours of interviews. I was supposed to be notified of their decision within two weeks. Six plus weeks and a few emails later, I was informed of what I already knew. The position had been filled. Very bush league, I expected better.

Interview Question – Run of the mill interview questions. Give me a time when you were put in a difficult position and how did you handle it.   Answer Question
