    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Vistaprint in April 2010.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by the recruiter at Vistaprint. It was a brief 15 min interview over the phone and then a technical interview was arranged. I was called onsite for personal interview with atlest 5 of them.
The first interview the person as late to work so that didnt happen. The next interview I was told briefly about the company and department. I thought the interview was going pretty well until it exploded.. I was told that the job did not have any Microsoft .net work until a year although I was called in for a Dotnet developer position. They had a 'tool' they wanted me to work on. For some reasong nobody in the department wanted to work on it. Now, who in the world would like this job after been told this. Obviously I was not interested and told them that it is very 'dissapointing' We didnt wanted to continue the interview but i was just giving it a shot as drove all the wayto Lexington for 3 hrs, didnt wanted to go back so soon. Anyway I guess they just called in the next person and no one came after that. Then the HR said it is not working for them as ' I' use lot of ' tools' which the company dont like. Infact I was thinking that the ' company' had been using 'tools' other than dotnet for this position was the real issue. Any way I asked why the Job description was not accurate. The HR had no idea about what it is about as far as Hr knows, it is dotnet position. Overall experience was very Dissapointing and I am glad that I conveyed it to them at the interview.

    • Question about how many shampoo bottles the company need to market.   Answer Question
    Reasons for Declining

It wasnt going to work out anyway. If they retired the tool they would not have the job for me. They had other dotnet people working but didnt have any dotnet work for me. Why did they even call me for this interview? I have over 6 years exp with dotnet working for Big 10 companies and was not going to work on anything else.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Vistaprint in May 2009.

    Interview Details

VistaPrint is located in an interesting building. We I arrived HR greeted me and escorted me to a tiny interview room. Very claustrophobic and intimate. I meet with 4 people, hour each. They gave me a tour of the building. The whole thing was way to long and every interviewers asked the same boring questions. They gave me a few cases to do, but they were simple and straightforward. Not to interesting and the company is going down with the economy.

    Reasons for Declining

    Low pay, boring position.

Spoke to 6 people in 3 separate sessions. 3 interviews were non-technical in nature and more about "fit". The other 3 interviews (conducted via Skype) included technical assessments of object oriented design, basic statistics and coding.

The HR lead informed me of the kinds of questions that will be asked so I had some preparation beforehand.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Vistaprint.

Overall it was a good experience. There was a significant delay between the time for resume submission and the actual interview. All the staff I interacted with were courteous and pleasant, conversational even. Did two one-on-one interviews with managers who seemed very knowledgeable of their respective fields. It was more like a fluid conversation about the industry and goals for the organization and how I saw myself fitting into that.

    Interview Questions
    • No tricky questions. Personally, I was adjusting from freelancing at home to this job so they asked how I saw myself transitioning into that.   View Answer

Not negotiation necessary. I got what I requested. There was a tricky phase based on some criteria they thought I met but didn't (I wasn't asked) but we found a work-around were both comfortable with.

    Senior Manager, FP&A Interview

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Vistaprint.

    Interview Details

Numerous rounds of interviews in person (3 days of 5-6 hours) plus countless hours of phone interviews or screeners with the recruiting organization. Most interviewers asked very typical questions. Very much interested in the high level analysis that you have performed, but this is virtually non-existant in the day to day job. Interviews are held in small cramped rooms that are typically pretty hot. Long interview process. Company wants to see a signifcant amount of candidates before making a decision, but will only leave you with ~1-2 days to make a decision on an offer.

    Interview Questions
    • Case analysis...not too bad, but they offer it to people of all levels and functions, it seems to be quite outdated.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
Look to negotiate more money. They often will give a fair offer up front, but they use sign on bonuses liberally and you can push for relocation and other perks.

    Online Marketing Specialist DACH Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Barcelona (Spain)
Anonymous Interview Candidate in Barcelona (Spain)
    Application Details

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Vistaprint.

    Interview Details

I applied for the position 2 weeks ago and was contacted immidiatly by their HR team for 1 hour interview via phone. I basically had to explain my resume in detail and also answer questions to my persona like: What are your weak and strong points? Why would you like to work at Vistaprint etc.

I was told that a second interview with the hiring manager would follow and promptly got invited to their offices in Barcelona. Their offices are amazing, only HR occupies an entire floor. I was interviewed by the HR Manager, which was very friendly and easy. Then I met the hiring manager and a team member. The interview was difficult and there were several technical questions involved.

After an hour interview I got contacted straight away again inviting me for a 3rd interview the same week, but this time a entire day ( 7 hours with 8 different managers and coworkers) to do case studies. The day before the interview I was contacted again informing me that there was a mistake and that I should have gotten a case study to resolve and to be sent back before my last interview round. I received the email ( after asking for it) at around 6 pm having the interview next day at 9.30 am, together with the schedule for my interviews. The case study was about general online marketing knowledge, however with the brief time I had left it was almost impossible to do a good presentation ( in Power Point and Excel) as requested. I also had a look at the interview schedule and was a bit shocked to see that in 7 hour interview, there was not one minute break ( apart from a lunch break together with a intern !?!) which made me reconsider the offer.

At this point it was already way into the night and I was still working on my presentation which was impossible to finish for the next day. After reading comments on people working at Vistaprint I deceided to cancel my interview and decline the offer as I felt that I would not be comfortable working at Vistaprint.

I was interviewed at the very beginning of the Barcelona office adventure and was referred by my sister who gave me tricks as of the interview. I was interviewed by 5 different people, 1 hour each. I've been given a little translation test as I was going to be in charge of translating the website. They expect a lot that you know about the company
