Assistant Manager (MGT) Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online - interviewed at Walgreens in July 2014.
Interview Details – Hiring manager very non attentive during interview. Cell phone went off several times so she missed some answers that were given. It felt like the interview was over before it began. I was very shocked at the unprofessional attitude displayed by someone who holds such a high position there.
Interview Question – Have you ever had to take charge of a project? Answer Question
Project Manager Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Walgreens.
Interview Details – Depending on the division and department, there will be one key interviewer. Best to go through a recruiting company to get in on a contract to hire. Not much chance for a direct hire unless you know someone who recommends you.
Interview Question – Describe a failed project. Answer Question
CPhT Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at Walgreens
Interview Details – Applied online, called in for interview a few days later. Had to go in for a skills assessment to the location I applied to. Very quick process and friendly staff and managers.
Assistant Manager (MGT) Interview (Negative Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Walgreens in July 2011.
Interview Details – Applied online, took a 2hr assessment consisting of math and reading questions. Got a call the next day to schedule an in-person interview with the DM. The interview process was easy, I scored one of the highest on their assessment and their admin called me the very next day to schedule a interview with their DM. Went in for an in-person interview and the DM was late 30 min, she was very unprofessional constantly checking her phone. There was only 10 behavioral/situational questions. Which I felt I did well, but I got a template email the next day saying I didn't get the offer. The template email didn't even have the DM's name on it. I certainly appreciate the timely response. What you put in is often what you get and it is their loss as they did not select the most qualified candidate perhaps afraid that he was over-qualified and may move on shortly. I don't think anyone would have sat through a 2hr assessment and driven another 3hr to the interview if they weren't genuinely interested in the position.
Interview Question – There was only 10 behavioral/situational questions. Answer Question
Coordinator Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online - interviewed at Walgreens in June 2014.
Interview Details – The first interview is over the phone with a recruiter. Here they ask you questions about you and your resume. They also ask you one or two behavioral questions. If you qualify for their position they will send you to the next round of interviews. Here you will meet with a higher up employee that will ask you several behavioral questions and will open the floor for you to ask questions as well. This interview is in person.
Interview Question – The questions are your basic behavioral questions.. You can google questions like that online. There was nothing really out of the ordinary or unexpected. They really want you to answer using your personal examples and skills/traits that you possess and implemented to complete a task. Answer Question
Sales Associate Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied in-person and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Walgreens.
Interview Details – Applied in store. Did an online assessment that consisted of multiple choice answers that test your ability to read coupons correctly and make change. Pretty basic. Still waiting for them to review the application.
Walgreens Cashier Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Walgreens in August 2013.
Interview Details – Received a phone call to schedule interview during a doctors appointment. They said I could call them back to schedule my interview in a few hours. When I called a few hours later to schedule the interview they said it was too late and I would not be given an interview despite the fact that I called back when they told me to call.
Very Difficult Interview
Walgreens Cashier Interview (Negative Experience; Very Difficult Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Walgreens in June 2014.
Interview Details – On a Thursday they demanded to see me the next day Friday for an interview, but also said if I couldn't come the next day, that I couldn't come at all. They made wait for over an hour on Friday. 1 of their managers was very rude to me.
Interview Question – Has anyone else also experienced what I experienced? Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
SALES CLERK Interview (Neutral Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Walgreens.
Interview Details – I filled out the first portion online, then went into the store a few days later to complete the second part. Went back a few days later to ask the manager if there was anything else I could do to move on in the next step, she said she would take a look at my application and scheduled me in for an interview. Went to the interview but the manager said they were looking for people with more availability.
Interview Question – Only asked for my availability Answer Question
ASMt - Applies to Any Position Interview (Negative Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through other source - interviewed at Walgreens in April 2014.
Interview Details – Prepare yourself for a "behavioral interview". Google the term if you must. Instead of asking you what you "would do" in a situation, they want to know what you "have done". They want you to describe the situation in detail, what your actions were and the outcome of it all. Don't be afraid to take some time to think first, your response is more important than the amount of time it takes to answer.
Interview Question – Tell me about the most difficult coworker you've had to work with. Describe the situation, how did you handle it, what was the outcome? Answer Question
