    Interview

I had been through the same process when I had been interviewed for an Assistant Manager position so I knew what to expect. The questions are work experience based (Describe a time when...) and are broke down into different competencies such as Judgement, Ethics, Customer Service, etc. The competency is described in detail and then a series of questions are given that are based on that competency. Using work or life based events, you describe how you handled the situation. The more detailed the answer, in my opinion, the better.

    Interview Questions

    • Trying to remember all the components of the Competency questions.   Answer Question

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Walmart (Des Moines, IA) in July 2012.

    Interview

There was a Phone interview which leads to an assessment if you score well enough on that they will ask you to sign and come in to gather the information needed for a criminal/drug screen if that comes back favorable you will be asked for a face to face interview with the District Manager also known as the Market Manager and Market Human Resource and if that goes well you will get a job offer. My situation was a bit different, I was recruited by the Market Manager when it was announced the store I was managing was closing it's doors for good.
