    Interview

They used a canned set of 4 questions. Like, "describe a time in a past work environment when you encountered a problem you didn't know how to handle, and explain what you did to solve it." Since it was within the company, (store), and the candidates were limited, it was more of a formality.

    Interview

Quite honestly, my husband was a district manager. And I had worked for Walmart before. So when we found out they were building a new store close to us (we had just gotten transferred to this state), my husband talked to the store manager and got the interview set up. I had the experience...but if there is a wife of upper management, that especially needs a job because of a transfer, they will get it 90% of the time, as long as they are somewhat qualified. There were a few "better" office type jobs-but they were already filled. So I settled for this one until a lady left in the cash office (she had already said she would leave within 6 months) I had 3 interviews. One with personnel. One with a few assistant managers, and one with "the" store manager. I had lived and breathed Walmart since marrying my husband-so there was no problem for me. Typical questions on integrity, being on time, right and wrong, etc. You do have to take a drug test.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart in August 2014.

    Interview

The Interviewing process was smooth and easy. The people were very nice. I was flown out to the HQ and had the interview the next day. They gave a presentation on the culture, we went on tour to see the Wal-Mart campus, and NW Arkansas. We even visited Sam Walton's old office. It ended up being a panel interview. More conversational than anything.

At the very end all the yays apps go to the store manager for the final decision.

I honestly only met the core managers, and the general store managers. Although I personally witnessed more managers as I got more acclimated. I then realized that there was a hierarchy and some type of internal social club.
