Auto Care Center Technician Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online - interviewed at Walmart in July 2013.
Interview Details – It had three interviews, first one was with a random assistant manager to see what your personality was like, second interview was with the manager that oversees the Automotive department. I was asked about experience questions and situational questions. The third interview was more of an on-boarding interview where they tell you your pay rate and ask if you can do the job. This final interview was done by the store manager not the personal manager which I thought was strange. You except or decline the job offer and if you except you have only so many hours to complete a drug test at a local medical facility they have chosen.
Interview Question – Tell me about a time at work where you were faced with a problem with a customer and how did you handle it? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation took place. It was the pay rate they offered or the highway. I needed a job badly since I'm in school.
Pharmacy Technician Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Walmart.
Interview Details – Less questions than other competitors, lack of extensive behavioral interview questions, long days in-between interviewing and feedback to the candidate, drug test result was too slow to report to candidate.
Pharmacy Technician Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Walmart in April 2014.
Interview Details – I applied online to two stores and surprisingly heard back from both the next day, setting interviews up at both in the following week. I interviewed twice with each of the stores, while they were both 15 minutes from my home, each were offering different positions.
Honestly i loved the interview sessions because instead of those horrible questionnaires on the computer, I got to be questioned in person and respond in accordance to my own experiences. In one store :There were two interviews as the interviewer enjoyed me immensely and had me do both the same day with different managers then contacted my references.
Meanwhile the second gave me one interview, contacted my references, had me do my second interview that was followed a few moments later with my job offer.
Interview Question – Tell us about a challenge you've had when working on a team and how did it get resolved? View Answers (2)
Negotiation Details – Since I was applying for a new store there were many positions opened and the managers were very accommodating, while I really wanted to work in the pharmacy, i was also looking for full time employment.
The position in the pharmacy was offered as part time with the possibility of quickly becoming full time in the coming months, however if I wanted the full time status immediately, my second choice in the electronics department was offered with the full time status.
I was given time to weigh the pro and cons before making my decision/.
Automotive Sales Technician Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied in-person and interviewed at Walmart.
Interview Details – If you dont really know how to change tires and do oil changes, just say you do, they will teach you anyways and have you certified.
Interview Question – most questions are just basic like any interview, just make sure you show them that you have experience and just say you have done the work on your vehicle, and mention the fact you know how to use a torque stick, to make sure all your drain plugs are torqued to specs. Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Pharmacy Technician Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Walmart.
Interview Details – One phone interview and two in person interviews done on the same day. They asked basic questions about my qualifications and they had a list of questions about how I would handle specific situations like dealing with a rude customer.
Interview Question – What about you that is not on the resume should I know? Answer Question
Certified Pharmacy Technician Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Walmart in March 2014.
Interview Details – After becoming Certified I called this pharmacy to ask of any openings. There were none at this store when I called so I applied at a nearby store that had openings. A month later the preferred store had a spot come open and called me for an interview. I was interviewed in the in-store restaurant by the OTC pharmacy manager on a Tuesday. She asked the normal situational questions and I used my retail experiences to answer. I left a resume and a copy of my license/certifications. She told me to expect a call at the end of the week. On Thursday I got a call for a second interview. The second was with the pharmacy manager. It consisted of him just explaining the job and the next steps in hiring, then asking permission to call my references and run my background check. The next week I got a call to come in for a job offer. I was given my pay amount and directions to a drug testing facility. I took the drug test and was called within a few days to start training that weekend.
Interview Question – Tell me about a time you disagreed with a boss. Answer Question
Pharmacy Technician Interview (Neutral Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and interviewed at Walmart.
Interview Details – Had to pass 3 interviews, each a different level of management, after initial personality assessment and background check. Then sent for drug screening. Interviews themselves were pretty short, the longest lasting maybe 20 minutes, but this can depend on your answers. Questions were of typical retail nature: problem-solving, customer service, stressful situations, etc. Orientation was in a group setting, and work started that first day after a tour of the building and some introductory company videos. HR Manager remained very personable and lively, even after answering many of the same questions over and over.
Interview Question – When you have a customer who is angry or difficult, and nothing you say or do seems to appease the customer, how would you handle the situation? Answer Question

Pharmacy Technician Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Walmart.
Interview Details – Heard from a friend that works in the pharmacy that they were hiring. So I applied online. Heard back within a week for an interview. Dressed well for interview. Immediately sat down with a supervisor in a training room (had computers all around, and new hires were doing training on them.. so it wasn't private at all) Supervisor was nice, didn't really ask me anything about about myself or any personal questions. Was asked about 6-7 questions total, and they were all situation-questions.. Example "Name a time when you had to do ........... in a past job" "Describe a time when this happened, and how you handled it". She read directly from a packet of questions, and noted comments on the papers of what I was saying. She seems uninterested the whole time, like she had other things on her mind than my interview (even though I was upbeat, professional, and nice). After about 6-7 questions (around 10-15 mins) she went to a room and spoke with another lady, they closed the door so I couldn't hear what they were saying. She came back out about 3 minutes later and said that the Pharmacy manager was coming to speak with me. She left and he came in a few minutes later, and basically did the exact same thing she did. He asked me more situation questions (around 5 questions, about 10 minutes)- and some where in the same question she had already asked, just worded differently. He said thanks and he would be in touch with me... Since I felt like situation questions weren't really "Selling" me to them, I actually asked him a few questions I wanted answered such as "How many hours does this position usually have..." "Whats the typical pay for this position"..etc.I also told him a little about myself and why I wanted to work there and why I would be a good fit. Even though he never asked me these things. We wrapped things up, and he said he would let me know something by the end of the following week. I waited 3-4 weeks after, and still never heard anything from them. I assumed they had chosen another person (I hadn't called to check on the process though, because at that time I was sure if I wanted the position or not). Today, 3-4 weeks later after the first interview, I received a voice mail to call them back. Called them back, and they want me to come in for a drug testing, and the lady said a they were going to offer me a job if I passed the drug test. I haven't accepted it yet (even though I have to choose an option on here) I'm waiting on what they will offer me, and to negotiate hours.
