I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Wells Fargo in September 2014.

Very unprofessional…I understand that this position is high volume sales. 95% of the question was about your past and current sales goals. Such as: goals, incentives?, commission?...do I get compensated weekly, yearly, monthly???…basically how are you compensated. I told them in my line of sales getting that number would be a great goal. They said it was to low. The product I sell could be worth $200,000 and up. HR would also asked me, what are the company’s quotas?. Was I able to achieve the company’s goals? Just give HR one worded answers…like yes, no, flexible, 28…they don’t care to her why, when,SWOT,Stories…HR told me that she has to make lots of calls and she need to make it quick and she has to type everything I say. I had to talk slow for her…Oh…they also asked about your level of computer knowledge…For example…How do you get to the next screen? click on the next button… How do you open a file? I told them click on the file…LOL…HR. was not happy with those answers…What do you use to search? I said, google.

Investment Banking Analyst (Non-Core, Incremental Hire) Interview

I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Wells Fargo in September 2014.

    Interview Details

Connected with a Director in the investment banking division who connected me with HR. I still had to do the online application, but the turnaround was very quick. Within a week or so of doing the online app, I was contacted by an associate with the bank to do a phone interview. It was a 2-on-1 phone interview with two associates. The interview was almost entirely them asking me about specific things on my resume. Almost no technical questions. The next week I got an e-mail inviting me to Superday in Charlotte, NC. The night before the interviews they hosted a reception with open bar and steak dinner so candidates could mingle with the different groups within IBD. The Superday consisted of eight, 30 minute, 1-on-1, back-to-back interviews with a person from each group ranging from analyst to managing director. Each person had one qualitative question with a few follow up questions, and two or three easy technical questions (I think I was asked how to do a DCF about four or five times). Once they asked their "required" questions they actually started asking things they wanted to know about you. It was definitely more geared towards the fit and making sure you understand the culture of the firm. If you've studied the numerous wall street interview guides you will be golden. After the interview you fill out a preference form, force ranking your group and location preference.

Offer was given about an hour or two after the interview process (Friday) and they wanted a response the following Monday.

    Interview Questions
    • Decidedly the hardest technical: All things equal, if you alter the capital structure of a firm from all equity to 50% debt and 50% equity, how will that change enterprise value.

Qualitative: Describe a situation where you were working on a group project with people who had different goals and motives in mind (i.e. Type A personality, slacker, language barrier, etc.) and how you went about completing the project. Was it successful and why?

The interview was extremely easy. There was a group interview of about 15 people. Just asked very simple questions about your work history. Tip: Just be yourself!!! Also please make sure that you dress the part, such as you need to wear a suit or suit skirt. You need to always look professional at all times when you have interview such as this one.

    Interview Questions
    • I would say the only thing that was unexpected was how we went about the group interview. The recruiter did not call out names for us to answer questions. The recruiter let us choose who should go first and so on. I just was calm and look a little longer than expected.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Wells Fargo.

    Interview Details

I applied online, (make sure your resume showcases the minimal requirements for the position) and was contacted via email 2 days later to schedule a phone interview. I was very nervous for the phone interview but it went well, the recruiter went over my prior work history and asked questions about my knowledge of computer use and technology. Mainly focusing on questions about sales, sales, sales, and prior work achievements, customer service & MORE SALES!! After the interview was complete -- I was then asked to come in for an in person interview with 2 supervisors. The interview went really well, the supervisors made me feel VERY comfortable and made the conversation run smoothly, they also focused a lot on sales and prior specific accomplishments, so make sure you have exact numbers for your prior accomplishments and sales goals for your phone and in person interview. I was contacted the day after my in person interview to be offered the position pending the completion of my background check. I schedule my fingerprinting the next day and was contacted 2 days later & told that my background check was cleared, I then set up my schedule and start training next week!

    Personal Banker II Interview

    Application Details

I applied in-person. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Wells Fargo.

    Interview Details

Applied online and within 2 day got a response for a phone interview with the recruiter. Very basic questions( past baking experience, goal, results and why you were looking for a change). Next step was meeting with this branch manger. I met with the manger about 1 week later. I showed up 10 minutes early only to wait about 40 minutes in the lobby ( no big deal) however the manger must have walked by me 10 plus times and never introduced themselves( no big deal again).
In was finally brought in for the interview with the manage and district manger.
Interview was about 2 hours long. Questions were perry straight forward( what would you do, how would you handle this situation.) What I was not happy about is how they were asking me questions about the current financial institution I worked for. The questions were extremely unprofessional to ask during an interview and I was extremely uncomfortable. After leaving I was told they would be in touch.
I sent a email thanking both for the time and interview. About 3 weeks passed and I did not hear anything so I assumed I did not get the position. I placed a follow up email and call and still nothing. 5 week later I the original recruiter called me saying I got the job but not the position I interview for. They explained a internal employee got it. I was ok and happy as I believe you should promote within. Overall I was not happy with the interview process and the unprofessional management.
