Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Asheville, NC Oct 2012 – Reviewed Jun 17, 2013 New
Interview Details – I was moving from out of town, so a majority of communication was initially over the phone. Upon arranging a meeting, I drove into town for the day to take 3 interviews at separate companies. Being my last interview of the day, I was pleasantly surprised at the informality of the interview. Friendly tones and honest discussion/questions.
Interview Question – I don't recall any particularly difficult questions. The interview was more of a conversation than a formal interview. Overall enjoyable experience with no speed bumps. Answer Question

Applied online for "Associate Team Leader," got called in for an interview a week later...for a different job I didn't apply for.
First interview was with an Associate Team Leader. Pretty basic questions. Biggest strengths, weaknesses, what would you last boss say, blah, blah, blah.
A few specific grocery retail questions: importance of rotating stock, preventing shrink/loss, what does GMO and organic mean. Real no-brainer stuff if you've ever worked in grocery.
Got called back for a second interview less than a week later. More of the same, but the Team Leader that interviewed me actually gave me a tour of the store. Asked the me about "gluten free diets" then got confused when I started talking about Celiac Disease. Not a good sign... Ended with a typical, "more people to interview, we'll let you know."
Literally an hour later I got an automated email saying I wasn't being considered for the position any longer.
Never got a response on the job I actually applied for. Oh well.
A college degree and six years in grocery retail management doesn't seem to go a long way to the folks at this Whole Foods.
Interview Question – What are GMO's and organic products was the only question I didn't expect, but certainly not a difficult one. Answer Question

Interview Details – Finally got an interview for the 2nd round of openings of a brand new store. Interview was brief and asked basic questions such as Why do you want to work for Whole Foods? Got hired on the spot and was working 4 days later after the 3-day orientation.

Interview Details – Received a phone call and participated in an informal informational interview with the grocery team supervisor. Phone call went great! Received a follow up phone call for interview several days later, went in for the interview and that went great as well. No information for days, then got a generic "we have chosen to pursue other applicants" email for HR. It really disturbed me because the rest of the process was so personal. Noticed the job was listed back on the website the next day, so I called the supervisor and he said they re-listed the job due to inadequate job pool to pick from. This was disappointing, but he recommended that I reapply. I re-submitted my resume, but never heard a word back.
Interview Question – What would be my favorite meal to cook and why. This was difficult because I love cooking all sorts of cuisines and dishes and it was tough to narrow it down. Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Seattle, WA Aug 2011 – Reviewed Jan 3, 2013
Interview Details – My interviewer was a real outdoorsman. Talk about walking trails and being outside, and you're hired. Of course, having at least SOME experience in a store helps, especially if you know about the kinds of foods that Whole Foods sells.
Interview Question – It was the easiest interview of my life. However, every manager is different in every company. Just be yourself. View Answer
Negotiation Details – What negotiation phase? They offered, and I accepted because I needed a job really bad and there's never a shortage of applicants with this company because of the excellent benefits.

I had a close friend that started working for WFM 6 months before I did and that was the main reason that I was able to get my foot in the door. We applied at the same time, but he knew more people at the store than I did. It was difficult getting an interview even despite the fact that I had an undergrad degree and was getting ready to finish a grad degree.
I remember the application being very long and detailed. My interview included one-on-one time with the team leader and assistant store team leader. There was only one day of interviews and I knew I had the job by the next day. The hardest part is just getting the interview.
I enjoy the culture of WFM, the people, the guests (customers), and what they stand for --> organic standards, non-gmo, no artificial anything (i.e. colors, preservatives, ingredients), no hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup. WFM has great benefits, profit sharing, and discounts on store purchases (starting at 20% off).
Interview Question – Do you shop here at WFM View Answer

New store opening in my area so when the job listings became available on their website I applied and also did the background check app. Phone interview came a week after applying. I had looked over all the interview questions that have been posted on Glassdoor and everything that he asked me, had been posted here. So make sure to read the various interviews.
I was told at the end of the conversation that when the Team Leaders were assembled they would be going through the phone interviews and if I was a candidate, I would be called. Well, apparently I didn't make the cut as it's been 3 weeks, which isn't long but the store opens to the public in 5 weeks. I have a great retail background and customer service but apparently my answers weren't what they were looking for or that I had a totally open schedule, any day, any time, Holidays, weekends...didn't seem to matter! Oh well, they still might call!
Phone interview lasted about 10 minutes, was very laid back. The questions below were just some of the 10 or so I was asked. Make sure to study their core values, read their blogs and study up on their history. Also seems the starting rate of pay is $10.00 as the interviewer asked if I would be happy with that amount per hour.

So after applying online, I received an email for a screening event on August 28 at a job agency office. So I learned that it wasn't an interview at all but a screening process to filter out candidates. The recruiter said there were very limited positions and they only seek experience. So I wanted to work in the grocery section, but the recruiter said I don't have experience despite working in grocery/retail for over 7 years. Instead, she pushed the cashier position on me so out of desperation I said I can do it. So I handed over my resume and the recruiter promised to "keep in touch" by calling back. Yeah right!
Even I get offered cashier position, I will flat out refuse because I am sick and tired of these positions. And when measured against the actual job description on the official website, the recruiter made no sense whatsoever. Obviously the recruiter had no idea what the job was. And because of that, I lost interest in the job and the company itself and would never apply/shop again.
Interview Question – None. Just the basics like "Have you been to Whole Foods?" and so forth. Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Basalt, CO Aug 2012 – Reviewed Aug 30, 2012
Interview Details – Was called a week before and had a phone interview before scheduling an inperson interview. The interview lasted about 20 minutes before hiring me the same day. It was casual but still professional.
Interview Question –
What does customer service mean to you?
What would you prescribe someone who had high cholesterol ?
What do you know about merge?
Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was offered $11.00 dollars an hours.
Pros: Phenomenal benefits. Employee-centered management. Gain sharing and medical flex account. Store-level management really focuses on well being of employees. I originally found employment here as a temporary interim situation, but have grown to love… – Full Review `
