I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Whole Foods Market in April 2014.

Interview Details – Saw the job online. Signed up with WF website, created a profile, uploaded my resume, entered all of my job history various times on the WF website profile, created a cover letter for the website. Received an email inviting me to the job fair. Showed up at job fair, met with three people, all were very nice. Was interviewed by one local manager, then passed to another location's manager. At the job fair there were 3 tables lined up with two interviewers at each table. They all had one interviewee they were both talking to, but you were seated right next to the other people. You could hear other people interviewing at the same time as you. It was a small challenge to maintain focus while you were answering or during the pause before the next question not to start listening to other people. She asked me many questions about relevant job history, what i know about WF stores, if I could help with certain bakery things, cake decorating, training, etc. She offered me an hourly rate on the spot.

Interview Question – -Tell me a little bit about what you did at your last job. I wasn't prepared for a clear concise answer for this.
-Do you shop at WF; if so, what is it you like about it? Specifically.
- Tell me a little about the signage at your whole foods, what do you notice.
  Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. She offered I accepted.

I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Whole Foods Market in September 2013.

Interview Details – The entire process took about 3 weeks. I applied on their website and in about 3 days I got a call. I didn't realize at the time but it was an initial interview. the person on the phone asked me what I knew about Whole Foods/Why I wanted to work there/About myself. They eventually asked me to come in for an interview.the next week. The interview turned out to be a group interview with about 25 other people and about 10 of their Team Leaders. I've had other group interviews that were HORRIBLE, and so I was expecting the worst, but this was an enjoyable experience. There were snacks available, and we all took turns talking about ourselves. We had to make skits in groups and learned about the company. Although it felt a little "high school" it was an efficient way to see how people worked with others.
After about 3 days I got another call to come in for a 2nd interview. This time it was just me and 2 team leaders. They told me about the job, made sure I was able to perform the duties required since this position is at their busiest store, and offered me a position. Everyone at the store is very friendly and I am SUPER excited to start work.

Interview Question – What would you do if someone who spoke a different language asked you for help?   View Answer

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Whole Foods Market.

Interview Details – The interview was conducted by one of the managers in the bakery department. We sat at a table in the cafe, oddly she chose a table that was right next to a man that was eating lunch even though there were plenty of open tables. She asked me why i wanted to work at wholefoods and kept it very light & casual. The interviewer seemed to like the fact that we have a love of animals in common. we chatted a little about that & a little about what the bakery position is like. Then she asked me if i was stranded on a desert island what would i want to bring with me. then it was my turn to ask questions so i asked a bit about procedure & how the department was run. I worked in an explanation of how i do not like desk jobs (that is what i have done in the past) and that i really want to be moving around & active. i also mentioned a few things i know about healthy baking options & different grains etc; She seemed to respond well to me & told me that there were a few other people to interview still but that she hoped that they were "not as good as me". i was told that in 2 days i would get a phone call & that they would let me know if they were interested at that time. Because we seemed to get along & have some things in common, plus the fact that she hinted that i was a good candidate made me feel hopeful. but the day i was supposed to hear back from them came & went. The next day i received an email informing me that they decided to go with another "more qualified" candidate. I still see the position posted as open. I guess nobody fit the bill & they are still interviewing. oh well.....

I applied through other source and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Whole Foods Market in July 2013.

Interview Details – The whole process went well. The people doing the interviews were very friendly and helpful throughout the process. I was asked a number of general questions about myself as to what position I was applying for and why. As it turned out, the position I applied for was taken but I was hired for a different job entirely based on one of my hobbies! I felt very comfortable with meeting most Team Leaders (dept and store managers) and I'm looking forward to going into this with an open mind, hoping I don't get confused by all of the rules that need to be followed!

Interview Question – None of the questions asked were really that difficult, it's just hard to think of answers when you're trying to think of your lives work history (mine is quite extensive as I'm not so young) to give a good, relevant answer. For me, the most difficult question was "What would I do if I saw a Team Member stealing?" To which the obvious answer is to tell a Team Leader about it. But I know from experience, that store politics could get in the way, and I may be fighting to keep my job because the person stealing, happens to be a good "friend" of the manager.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Not really a negotiation. They told me what my starting pay would be and it was
sort of a, take it or leave it, offer.

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Whole Foods Market in February 2013.

Interview Details – Super easy! Went to the WholeFoods site and filled out their online application. Was called in within a week of applying. Had a phone screening first. Asked about my customer service experience, food service and grocery store experience. Asked what my reasons were for applying. I said I'm a people person with great customer service & 2 years experience working directly with the public. This is no necessary however as they will train you. They want to know you are hard working, a Team Player & like working with the public.

I had an in person interview two days after the phone interview. Some of the same questions were explored. I was offered a position on the spot.

Interview Question – How would you handle a disgruntled customer? How would you resolve an issue with a co-worker?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. Everyone starts at $10/hr in customer facing positions but a review takes place at the 6 month mark for a possible increase. Once you are voted in by your team, you can participate in gain sharing. There are a lot of perks to working for this great company. The longer you stay the more you can participate in profits, stocks & oh each mystery shopper award is worth $50! In my first 3 months I have had 3 awards! That's $150 for groceries. And you also get 20% off all store merchandise upon hire.
