Pretty easy overall. Very nice interviewer, and got an offer at the end of the phone conversation to move on to the next round (skype) Asked aboue sales background, and a difficult situation.

    Interview

Not much to say because it was so easy - 2 interviews, one on Skype, one webinar, one phone role play. No in person interview which was great. I was a referral.

    Interview

I was contacted for an interview about 2 weeks after I applied for the position and I am really impressed with this company. If they were build a headquarters in Texas I would most definitely work for this company.

    Interview

I applied for this position and heard back from their recruiting office about 4 or 5 days later. They had sent me an email saying they'd like to schedule a phone interview with me and gave me specific times and asked which two would work best for me. They were efficient in getting back to me and had given a 10 minute period of time in which they'd call you. The phone interview lasts as they say, around 15 mins. Its really informal; they ask you about a time you face adversity, when you've found yourself competitive, and give you more information about the position you applied for and how they work as a business. The recruiter was easy to talk to.

    Interview

Applied for the position online and received an email about a week later saying I got a phone interview. The interview lasted about 20 minutes and consisted of basic interview questions, such as "why are you interested in sales?" etc. They also make sure you know what Yelp is about and want you to research the job role ahead of time so that you have an idea of what you will be doing.

    Interview Questions

    • "Tell about a time you had to compete for something you wanted"
Not really a difficult question but I wasn't expecting it and didn't have a great answer.

    Interview

Sent in my resume and was contacted fairly quickly via email of my interest in the position. They followed up with a 10-15 minute phone interview. Immediately following the phone interview I was granted another interview via Skype. About a week later the interview was scheduled and went along smoothly.

    Interview

Applied online, was emailed within a week to set up a time to do a 15 minute phone screen. This was quick and involved simple questions like why yelp? Why sales? Tell me a little about yourself, etc... They basically just want to make sure you're personable and can carry a conversation. At the end of the call they asked me to set up a Skype interview a week later with a couple of their account managers. This interview lasted an hour and I spoke with two managers who were extremely nice and easy to talk to. They asked a few basic interview questions, but the bulk of both interviews was role playing. The scenarios involved making cold calls and selling yelp to local businesses. I didn't do so well my first time but they have you each redo the scenario and give you some feedback to implement. I implemented it exactly as they told me to do it and they both seemed pleased.
The main idea is to IMPLEMENT FEEDBACK. Immediately after talking to each one of the managers (About 20 minutes each), I was emailed to register for a training webinar and a background check. I still haven't had the webinar but I'm hoping this means good news for me, but we'll have to wait and see! All in all, the process has been one of the best I've gone through.

    Interview

The initial interview as pretty basic. They asked me to describe what the responsibilities of the job were and to describe a typical day. Afterwards, they asked some other typical interview questions ("describe a time when you were successful/failed" etc) The last thing I had to do was role play a scenario leaving a voicemail for a client had not showed up to a meeting.

    Interview

Two phone interviews and then a rejection. I became skeptical when they asked me to do a second phone interview. Most people on here got to an in-person interview after their first phone interview. I guess they were unsure about me. The only good thing is that Yelp is very fast. I applied through an employee referral and they contacted me for a phone interview 3 days later. This is the second time they rejected me (I applied last year too), so I don't recommend applying again if you've already been rejected once. I thought this time would be different because I was coming in with a referral and I didn't have that last year.

    Interview

Got a call which was great very inviting and exciting
Then had my first interview with a female was very inviting and informative about the roll and position , did two role plays went well .
Second part of interview was some level of disrespectful
he kept looking at his phone mentioning his bday weekend was coming and how he misplaced his ID in a local bar over the week , which didn't bother me at first but when i noticed nothing i was saying he was paying attention to and was starting got rush me throw the process. I understand this is a aggressive sales role but this was a interview for us to build some type of confidence in each other .
I really was open and excited to this opportunity but the rude way of the 2nd interviewer let me know that yelp is not where i would feel comfort as new career choice. There not diverse and he rushed me out the door and didn't respond to my BYE lol . Im not sensitive but this is a Job and business and the 2nd interviewer had no tact of professionalism.
