I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at ZenithOptimedia in August 2014.

    Interview Details

I went to media day which is an informational session offered by the company where you learn about the industry, its trends, the company, and the training program. You get to hear feedback and network. I got an email from HR the same day I attended media day for a phone interview. The interview was basic, and they like to hear that you're passionate about media and your eagerness to learn. I got pushed to the 2nd round. 2nd round was very organized and it was a 2 hour long process. I was in a group of about 8-10 candidates. We were taken to a conferences room where we were given a brief presentation (similar to the one from media day). Then, there was a basic media math test in which they provide you with a calculator. Then, I had a 2 on 1 with someone from HR and someone from strategy (basic). I got a phone call next day with the offer!

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at ZenithOptimedia in October 2013.

    Interview Details

I applied online and about 2 weeks later I received a call by someone from HR who gave me a 30 minute phone interview. The phone interview was very standard and all behavioral questions about why you want to be in the media industry, what you know about the company etc. At the end of the phone interview, she offered me an on-site interview the following week. The on-site interview consisted of a brief presentation describing the media training program and very simple math test (during which time you're in a room with several other candidates), followed by a 2 on 1 meeting with one of the HR coordinators and a senior media planner. About 3 days later, I received an email from HR that they want to move me to the final round of interviews where I will meet with one of the upper management team members. I went back on-site the following week and met with one of the presidents. Less than one business day later HR called me back with an offer which I accepted.

Met with three people from the account team and they asked pretty standard questions. Some of the questions included: What are your strengths... What management style do you prefer. What can you bring to the team with your previous experience.

    Media Training Program Interview

I applied through college or university – interviewed at ZenithOptimedia in March 2013.

The interview experience for the Media Training Program was fantastic! The recruiter did an excellent job of explaining the program in great detail and answering every question I had. After my phone interview I was able to come in and meet with multiple staff members on one day. Most places you interview make you take multiple trips back and forth so being able to come in and meet with everyone at once is really smart. Every person I spoke with on the phone or in person was very pleasant and clearly skilled in their line of work.

A few days after my interview I was extended an offer which I happily accepted. This is the most unique training program I have ever come across and I'm sure they receive hundreds of applications. I'm really excited to be given this opportunity and can't wait to start this summer!

Hiring process was seamless since the account I was working on at a sister agency of Zenith Optimedia was moved over to ZO due to a new business win. New York HR lead came in, sat with all of us, described restructure/transition process and pay scale.

    Media Training Program Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at ZenithOptimedia in October 2012.

    Interview Details

I emailed the Director of Human Resources about career opportunities with ZenithOptimedia and we set up a time to speak via telephone. The employee thought I would be a good fit for the company's upcoming Media Training Program. I then had an in-person interview with a Talent Acquisition Manager, which lasted about 30 minutes and was very casual. After this interview, I was invited to attend a "Round Robin" interview with two different employees: a senior media planner and the VP of Human Resources.
The senior media planner was evidently filling in for someone else to do the interviews for this particular day and didn't seem to understand what she needed to ask during the interview. I actually saw the interview scripts/information sheets, a copy of my resume and the resumes of what may have been other candidates casually lying on the table. Despite being thrown in at the last minute, she was very pleasant and answered all my questions and seemed genuinely happy to be working at ZenithOptimedia.
The VP was extremely warm and had a great personality, however she did give off the vibe that I may have been a bit overqualified for the training program. She mentioned that the majority of the candidates they take in are right out of undergrad, and that I had a lot of experience compared to the people they usually interview.
When it came time to follow up regarding the position, the communication was actually quite poor. I had to email three times in order to get a response as to whether or not I made the cut. I sent more emails to the recruiters regarding other junior level positions and these weren't returned and finally I just stopped trying to contact them.

Bad communication. I was informed that someone from HR would contact me (I thought to set up an interview) but it turns out she was calling for the actual interview. I was caught off guard and not prepared.

Terrible communication. Recruiter didn't seem to know what he was talking about. Offered incorrect information throughout phone interview. Was told I would receive a decision two days after interview. Never received phone call/email. Whole post-interview experience was just very unprofessional and disappointing. Need to hire better HR personnel that are actually competent.
