Customer Solutions Agent Interview

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at eBay Inc. in February 2013.

Interview Details – eBay has a very extensive hiring process but didn't feel tedious because I really wanted the job. There is the initial application and assessment, then a phone interview, the second application (information for background check), referral surveys, you have to have 3 previous coworkers and 2 previous supervisors complete a survey about you via email, (getting people to agree was easy, but getting people to follow through, not so easy, I had to send about 10 surveys to get all of mine completed. Then they have you come in to speak with a recruiter about what the job is like, take a typing and skills test, then you'll sit with an agent to listen to a call, and if you still want to to work there, THEN you get an interview. The questions they ask are really difficult and all kind of sound the same, its all about sharing examples of past work experience for customer service, so be prepared with multiple examples.

Quality Assurance Analyst Interview

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at eBay Inc. in July 2011.

Interview Details – It was a typical entry-level position interview. Although they did ask a few technical questions (what kind of computer/OS do you use, have you ever played around with any sort of code or terminal commands, etc.) for the most part they just asked the normal interview questions that essentially determined if I could be trained easily to follow their standards.

Interview Question – For me personally, the technical questions were quite difficult just because they were very specific.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Salary was set as was the contract duration.

I applied through college or university - interviewed at eBay Inc. in February 2014.

Interview Details – Contacted through on-campus recruiting mailing list. Had one on-campus interview followed by one additional phone interview with the team that I was going to work with, and I was able to get the offer afterwards. The interviewers were really nice and helpful when I was stuck on something, and I didn't feel any pressure during the interview at all.

Interview Question – Method to find all duplicates of letters in a string. A few simple data structure runtime questions. Questions on OO design.   Answer Question

Mobile Software Engineer (IOS SDK and App Dev) Interview

Anonymous Employee
San Jose, CA

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at eBay Inc. in January 2014.

Interview Details – I interviewed with Ebay shorty after graduating college in December 2013. Interview was at PayPal's headquarters. The process consisted of two phone interviews, then a final onsite interview which consisted of 5 hour long one on one interviews. Four technical interviews, one behavioral.

Interview Question – The technical questions covered a wide range of areas which I appreciated. The areas included object oriented design, architecture design, problem-solving/algorithms, objective-c (blocks, view controllers, etc.), and mobile specific questions. The most difficult question I was asked was to design a document upload/fetcher system for mobile (kinda like dropbox for the iphone). The difficulty was really in all the details of the problem (caching, database modeling, security, sessions, etc). Algorithm questions ranged from binary tree search questions to array pattern searching. The most unexpected question was the interviewer gave me a stream of digits and asked me to find the pattern. I got really stumped on this problem, it was my last interview of the day and I just blanked out. I guess I did well enough throughout the day because I got the job. By no means an easy interview, but not extremely hard, I was extremely well prepared as I had been interviewing for a while. Id say its on the average to difficult scale, if you are bad at architecting systems then this interview would have been HIGH diff.   Answer Question
