    Pros

It can be a very stable job, and they do seem to try. The only really big benefit is the stability.

    Cons

Leadership will sell products before they are done. They will also give you hard deadlines without any feedback from the developers first. We still use XML and archaic COM+ technology like we live in 1999. The 'architects' are the ones that refuse to move technology forward and when they do they refuse to follow industry practices. The health plan is the worst plan they can. Plan on around 9k on any major (and sometimes minor) medical problems. The management has stopped listening to those below them and the new CTO will keep changing what he expects without telling you his expectation. Very little recognition to employees and the recognition they do give is a joke. You can win a free lunch every month or so, but only two teams out of like 10 can win each time. Good luck getting any promotions either. Nobody gets promoted and nearly everyone is hired as a senior engineer.

    Advice to Management

Follow better software practices and quit focusing on how to squeeze every dollar out of your clients and employees. Make good software and people will come.
