I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    50% off wireless service
above average pay, especially for retail
    benefits are OK (7/10)

    Cons

you're assigned to a store, so no HR when you have issues, you're at the mercy of your management's knowledge and ability to care. You will be working nights and weekends, no way around it. Scheduling is a nightmare. It's all done automatically and you'll have shifts that differ by half an hour each way which makes commuting suck as you're constantly second guessing when to leave. Day off change week to week and you'll have shorter shifts followed by longer shifts. Again, if you need to be set days, set times, just look elsewhere. Never mind customers. You have to be willing to take complete abuse from "civilized" people with a smile and care about their first world problems. And for RSC's, unless you sell it doesn't matter what else you bring to the table, you're never going to move up. I've seen horrible "employees" (complain, show up late, bad attitude) lie to customers just to sell who made manager within one year while my..erm "friend"...showed up early, came in on days off, was constantly doing extra tasks and giving 110% was never given the time of day. Horrible culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best sellers ARE NOT ARE NOT ARE NOT the best leaders. These are completely different skill sets and a Fortune 7 company should figure that out.
