Former Employee - Call Center in Brooklyn, NY

I worked at American Stock Transfer & Trust full-time for more than 5 years

able to work with a wide variety of great people. However, they are just as overworked, underpaid and understaffed as you will be. There are no real pros since PEP took over.

Where to start??? Upper management that expects the world and beyond of their employees but are unwilling to pay decent living wages. Great pay if you are living in rural Iowa I suspect, but not in NYC. COO is a very untrustworthy fellow who will do anything to make an awful company (AST) look good. No bonuses or raises in the past three years. Brutal corporate culture. Negativity reigns at AST and rightfully so. Workers are underpaid and over worked. Same goes to understaffed department heads. The call center is a joke. Shareholders are forced to wait for over 45 minutes to be connected to a rep. Just try to move up in the company. A coworkers family member is almost guaranteed to get whatever job you are going for. Even if you are promoted, it is a "lateral movement" with no pay raise. Stay away from this sinking ship! It feels like upper management's goals are to either destroy the company from within or to outsource the call center to a third world country.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your supervisors and what their needs are. Stop being so greedy. AST has acquired many companies in the past two years, yet they always cry poverty when it comes to supporting their own.
