    I have been working at Aspire Public Schools full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    -it is all about getting kids to and through college
    -no question that the mission is the full focus organizationally
    -strong focus on teacher retention and compensation
    -organizational shifts occur when they are needed and very quickly
    -very responsive upper eachelon in management
    -excellent benefits

    Cons

    -very high expectations can be stressful
    -work/life balance is difficult

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep working with teachers to make them feel not only valued but cared for, that is how we will retain the best teachers.
