    I worked at Avaya full-time (more than 3 years)


    Great technology, helpful line personnel, industry name recognition, willing teaming partners; flex hours; good potential if a realistic transformation roadmap is put into place


    All of the technology is not approved for use within the U.S. federal space; line personnel are severely constrained by lack of resources - it is impossible to even get office supplies; business partners are starting to go team with other companies/competitors; the Lucent/Nortel/PEC glory days are long over; the Fairfax, VA Government sector complex is empty and disheartening; too many changes in leadership (how many AvayaGov leaders this past decade?); low morale due to constant layoffs - including successful, senior individuals (the folks making those cuts up until recently are also now gone)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Company needs a "reset" of sorts and try to have a stable leadership team - at least in the Government business; face reality - the Glory Days are over and the company is now a SMALL player but has good potential provided a clear and realistic roadmap is put into place (and, no - an outside consulting firm is not the solution); the U.S. federal market is going to be tough for the next few years so do not expect growth; the few recent hires over the past year really want to make a positive impact so listen to them
