Former Employee - Litigation Manager in Plano, TX

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I recently left BAC in Plano after being there 5 years. The physical site is really bad and not employee friendly. There are mice throughout the building, bathrooms are disgusting, and they don't offer coffee or microwaves in the break rooms. You're on your own there. The benefits, however, are great with generous vacation time, maternity, paternity time off, tuition reimbursements, etc.

    Cons

There's no rhyme or reason as to how people get promoted over there. There are some people who do really well, earn great salaries and bonuses, and others who are underpaid and not promoted. They don't seem to care what your educational background is, and it's frustrating for people in the same job to have only a high school diploma vs. a graduate degree. Its seems to be more who you know and who likes you as to your mobility. Your job is your manager, truly. I left due to all the layoffs, no opportunity to boost my income since I was already there, and a micromanager. It's too bad when good people leave. If you can come in at a salary you feel happy with, and you're lucky enough to report to a professional, decent manager, you can have a great experience at BAC.
