    I worked at Best Buy full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Over the years the company has been great to work for and their pay is on par for the work you do on par with the industry.

    Cons

    Given the economy and with more and aggressive online competition Best Buy is forced to trim costs. One of the methods employed is to reorganize/restructure and do layoffs once a year for the last 7 years. Starting in 2013 the layoffs shifted from an annual occurrence to an ongoing monthly occurrence continuing into/through 2014. With the reduction in staff the people left employed pick up the extra workload (do more with less). Employees are unsure from one day to the next if they will have a job with Best Buy. Not faulting Best Buy as all companies need to evolve and adapt; for if they don’t they may not exist in the near future and that would be a greater tragedy for all employees.
