    I worked at CEB full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Experience, training and business issue exposure is unparalleled for junior sales team positions. CEB has an excellent product whose transnational sales model works well for domestic organizations; you get smart on leading business issues and have access/opportunity to have significant conversations and make an impact at member organizations. If you find your groove, success in junior role can lead to [relatively] rapid advancement in the sales team... buckle up, it is an unyielding, fast pace environment and if you can help to increase the speed, you will win.

    Cons

    As Acct Mgmt Rep, you are a work horse, with micro managed metrics and the compensation is uninspiring. Business culture is sink or swim... social culture is sophomoric, paralleling cliquishness. As with sales organizations, your standing is based on 'what have you done for me lately' and be prepared to carry goals that increase at an average growth rate of 15-20% year over year. Promotion track in sales team is rigid and, often not representative of individual's potential.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Step in to promote better career management. The young professionals at the org will appreciate guidance from you for those who need help finding their way out of a track that might not be the best fit. Disintermediating yourselves from this and other development conversations reduces confidence and trust in direct managers and team leadership.
