I have been working at Christensen & AssociatesPros
You will learn answers to questions about capital markets that you never thought to ask. From a personal enlightenment perspective, it's great. Professionally, not so much.Cons
FIRST: There are very few investor relations jobs in the world, and even less recently. Most IR jobs require more experience and more skills than you will gain at Christensen. Even then, working in IR often requires frequent moving to where the jobs are at.
SECOND: The VAST majority of people don't last more than two years, if they even get to that point. Most are laid off, but many quit.
Skills are not especially transferable to other industries. You learn a lot of different things, but don't specialize in anything.
The North America business is tanking, big-time. The company is focusing heavily on Asia and people are afraid the North America operations will be shut down. The company closed it's NYC and Montreal offices. The size of the company with regards to employees and client billings has decreased substantially for many years and doesn't look ready to rebound.
If you work here, keep your eyes open for other opportunities from the start.Advice to ManagementAdvice
I don't know what advice to give. The business model is failing. Asia is where it's at and I'm not sure management can do anything about the domestic business falling apart.Doesn't Recommend
