I have been working at Cigna full-time (more than 5 years)

Cigna is an excellent employer. Their base pay and bonuses are highly competitive and they recognize top performers with raises and promotions. If you're not getting AT LEAST a 4% raise each year, you're not working hard enough, or you've somehow poisoned your own well.

Entry-level customer service jobs notwithstanding, the majority of their workforce enjoys flexible hours, substantial paid time off, and the ability to work from home. Cigna has major office locations in fairly average-to-low cost of living areas which pull from an unskilled talent pool for entry-level positions. This means that competency is easy to recognize early on and rising through the ranks to the lower management/supervisory positions is attainable even for non-college grads, though you can expect to need a degree in something (anything really) to advance beyond that level.

As with any large corporation, there are office politics to deal with, but they are not a significant factor for employees below the middle management level. Some departments are less desirable to work in than others, but horror stories are the exception, not the rule.

Their competitive base pay is achieved through skimping on the health benefits. There are no options except for high-deductible plans available to employees.
