I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (more than 10 years)

Great benefits, from bonuses, stock, fitness centers, training, and more. In addition there are plenty of opportunities to move different groups.

Being a big company, there is a lot of bureaucracy, which causes projects to move slow. A lot of the tools and projects are antiquated. A lot of the engineering resources are dedicated to maintenance rather than new projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management focuses too much on long term schedules and metrics, and is not focused on making engineers more efficient.
