    I worked at Citi full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    I did have the opportunity to contribute to a number of key initiatives that had great exposure and helped drive important things for the team. There were several wonderful opportunities that only came about by working with a Fortune 100 company. The pace of work is fast and invigorating, which provides the opportunity to be exposed to a great deal very quickly.

    Cons

    Inconsistencies in culture and team direction. Team structure and reporting relationships were regularly changed, making it impossible for the annual review process to accurately and justly reward employees. Many leaders reward their prior teams when teams are reorganized, putting people in power who know nothing about the subject over people who are experts in the field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on promotional opportunities and identifying career paths for key talent. Opportunities to lead teams are few and far between, which limits overall career growth for your employees and leads to turnover. Exit interviews should be a mandatory part of the process when an employee leaves. The absence of this reiterates the organization is not concerned with the reason talent leaves.
