Where to start...
I worked at goji in a corporate position and witnessed a lot of unethical practices in my time there. The first thing that I would like to touch on is how they handle their sales department. They don't hire people for quality, they hire quantity. You may be the best sales person on earth and end up working next to a high school dropout who can't carry a conversation. They did hire some talented individuals, but they lose them due to their horrible pay and environment. The bonus plan also changes weekly, and as they have done worse and worse, they have made the bonus less attainable every week. The business rebranded in August, and two weeks after promising their employees the moon and stars, they laid off 40% of their staff, and just laid off another round of corporate people in November. So that being said, if you want stability this is not the place for you.
Next thing to consider if you are looking for work here is the lack of leadership and experience in upper management. These people feel it's okay to hire you and pull you out of a good stable position and let you go months later because they didn't forecast or think ahead. Most of the management here have only had one job, so they have no clue what they are doing. My direct supervisor was a prime example of this. He had no clue how to run our department, and treated it like a sales team. Unfortunately for "managers" who work at goji, they will probably really struggle to find work after this company tanks. They just lost their venture capital funding and will either be gone, acquired, or stripped down in 6 months. The company is too far gone at this point to salvage.
The last thing I want to cover is GlassDoor reviews. The company has a team of people to put up reviews that don't make the company look "that bad" I was on that team and I can promise you that all of the negative reviews are true, and anything with a rating of 3 stars or better was fabricated either by me, or one of my coworkers who were forced to counter negative PR.
My best advice, if it's between goji and McDonald's, take McDonald's. You could make more money there, have more competent management, and have better stability.
