As a scientist, you get good pay, and good opportunities for training

    I worked at Corning full-time

    Pros

Excellent seminars and support for web-based and classroom training. Friendly culture. Good pay and bonuses. Good work environment for PhD scientists, less so for lab techs.

    Cons

Periodic layoffs with no warning (though you do get severance pay). Too much stratification between scientists, technicians, and production workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep investing in R&D to have new and innovative products in the future. Try to streamline workflow in the labs to avoid long wait times to get critical data.
