I have been working at Driveline Retail Merchandising part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Driveline offers a flexible part-time schedule that can be worked around other employment in most cases. You get the opportunity to learn "The Other Side" of retail. You get to work around a diverse group of people. You are in charge of your own schedule and how far you are willing to travel.

    Cons

Applicants should be told that this job is for self-starters or those with an entrepreneurial spirit. You should have the mindset that this is your business. No one will force you to work. However, you will not get paid either. If you need supervision, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. You have to read the project instructions in order to execute the project correctly. If you don't like reading, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. There are training videos and instructions on your portal but not for every single project you have.Decision-making and sound judgement is required. Also, there's no advancement opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a message board for employees to communicate with each other to offer advice, alert about project problems, ask for help, etc. Having an actual calender for employees to update their availability would be more beneficial on both sides instead of the generic days of the week currently used. Also, there should be a different pay-scale for more complex and time consuming projects.
