    I worked at DynCorp International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pay and compensation are fair and comparable to similar companies. There are opportunities for lateral movement within the larger projects and upward growth for those who have the skills and abilities required for leadership (and some who do not). The company has made great strides in the past few years to improve it's organizational structure and implement new programs for continuous improvement and employee development.

    Cons

    Benefits packages for international employees could be much better. 12 hour work days, 7 days per week is mandatory for contract employees on some projects. Limited placement opportunities for senior staff after serving on international contracts (even after 4+ years of dedicated service in harsh conditions). Employee support staff (HR, Finance) frequently shows incompetence (but has improved slightly in recent years).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Recognize the efforts and achievements of your senior staff on some of the larger projects (i.e. LOGCAP, State Department) and make it a priority to reach out to these employees and offer placement opportunities in positions stateside or on other projects internationally.
