I have been working at Hampton Inn full-timePros
Wonderful staff! It's like we're a family. Having worked in retail before I always viewed myself as a stepping stone for the powerful, overlord managers. I feel like I'm appreciated here, and my supervisor always tries to work with my class schedule.Cons
The shifts can interfere a bit with your social life. I work morning, 6am to 2pm. Being the college student I am, sometimes I want to stay out late, but I've gotten used to it and now enjoy looking forward to my free afternoons.
Also, you are most definitely going to be working at least one major holiday. Hotels never close, y'know!
The only other thing is that you usually work by yourself on most shifts and there can be a long period of downtime. This is just a personal con for me, as I'm a very social person and enjoy having company as well as like being kept busy.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Maybe hire another breakfast hostess? The one we have is here everyday except for Sunday, I feel a bit bad for her.RecommendsNeutral Outlook
