    Pros

The acquisition of Exelis augments it core capability and core business -- right on the sweet spot -- military radios and air-traffic control equipment. Also, this large -- almost equal size -- acquisition provides executive and middle management strengths much needed for the Corporation to achieve the next step of its growth.

    Cons

Some "really unsuccessful" acquisitions in non-core areas such as in IT and Healthcare is bogging the corporation down, with no upside in view. The units such as Harris IT (ex-Orkand, etc.), CaoRock Government (Arrowhead) and Harris Healthcare (CareFX) are ill managed with original small company executives in leadership, with small company mentality. In these units there the "old boy" buddy systems still exists and nobody with management talent to fix it!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The sooner Harris divests with Harris IT, CaoRock Government, and Harris Healthcare -- the better! Cut your losses! If you want stock prices in the 90s do it now!
