I have been working at Harris full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good talent with design engineers, friendly people.

    Cons

Harris GCS needs new ideas to succeed. In other words, GCS needs to get rid of the "old guard" and get new ideas infused into the business. Leadership keeps promoting and reorganizing the same VP's and Directors (same monkeys different tree). The current GCS leadership does not perform. They provide no value to the company and until a major change happens with the top leadership, GCS will not grow. Also, the workplace is changing. A new building is great, but to place engineers into a small cubical the size of a desk with low walls is not conducive of design environment. They only want us to bring 3 boxes from our old office into the new building when we move into it. The 3 boxes include items from inside the desk, items on top of the desk and books. Basically, do more with less. Do more with less resources (less reference books at your desk), do more with more distraction being in a very compact cubicle and high density office environment. Also, with the advent of having a new CEO (less than 2 yrs ago), he is only interested in making money, regardless of how he has to do it. He only looks at his own wallet and does not care about the local workforce who have been with Harris many years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Harris GCS leadership: If the VP's and Director's do not perform, get rid of them. Do not promote them. Need new ideas, change the "old guard".
