I worked at Harris full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Their last check didn't bounce. They have free coffee.
There 'used to' be lots of bright people working at Harris.
They 'used to' keep employees between programs.
They 'used to' give about a 5% raise.
They 'used to' listen when the little guy spoke.
They 'used to' act like they cared about their employees.

    Cons

Wide spread lay offs to meet short term profit margins for a single quarter.
The stockholders are in charge and short term gains rule the day.
Lack of planning. Lots of knee jerk reactions.
Do it fast, get their cash now, charge them to fix it later attitude.
Management has become arrogant and there are no adults in charge to correct their bad behavior.
It is OK to YELL in your face.
It is OK to threaten your job.
It is OK to make off color comments.
It is OK to question your age.
It is OK to hire your unqualified good old buddies and push qualified people out the door to do so.
It is OK for management to go on weeks of paid team building trips while workers get 1% raises and laid off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversify product offerings. Bid properly and with the right people in the room.
Listen to the ethics training you make your employees listen to each year.
Stop taking millions of dollars in bonuses while preaching austerity and hard times.
Understand that it is better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
