If you are a good performer, dont even think about it.

Current Employee - Technology Analyst in Sunnyvale, CA

I have been working at Infosys full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Job security is almost guaranteed if you can code a hello world program.
     - Stable and ongoing long projects.Though it depends a lot but if you have a Visa, you pretty much gonna consume it fully.
     - You can relax during your tenure as its a company full of average performers so its ok if you are one of them for some time.

    Cons

    - As a top performer, you ll feel why on earth are you working for them. Even if you are a Rating 1 holder for consistent years, you are just another guy in 1.65 lac people.
     - Totally business driven and dont care at all about their long serving employees.
    - Innovation / ideas are almost dead. You ll hear a loooooot of lectures for the vision and non-linear growth but NO concrete action.
     - In my tenure of 8 years not even a single meeting happened where concerns were addressed. Those sessions are just for the sake of doing a session.
     - There is a negative feeling about company in employees as none of their policy is employee friendly.
A policy in Infosys means trouble leading to a dead end .
     - The crappiest ever Certification system linked with promotions. You have to give absurd certifications to fetch points. I remember giving aeroplane engineering certification while working on Java project and banking domain :)
     - As a good performer you will only get more and more work, forget getting paid for it in any other manner
     - Way below market salaries.
    - I lost trust in them as what they publish in media is not what happens. For last 2 years they have published they gave hike to onsite employees, Not even a single penny was increased for us.
     - Visa/immigration issues, God only can help you from the laziest and most irresponsible legal team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - You have a non performing middle management layer which wont let performers come up.
There are so many senior employees who are not ethical, highly unprofessional and literally dumb. I think such middle layer is causing downfall.
     - The policies are good if they help. Your policies are more of a trouble.
    - I dont know why you cannot have a good legal team.
    - Take care of employee frustrations when they start building up not when they decide to quit :)

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
