    Pros

I'm referring to the DuPont site in particular, so my comments and ratings are with respect to my group and/or campus: In my particular group WLB (work life balance) is great and work load is fair. Hot issues tend to be identified early on, avoiding frequent "dungeon environments where we work every day for 12 hours, at least.

    Cons

The DuPont site underwent recent downsizing, so it's a bit scary/uncertain in terms of long-term job security. My group leaves more to be desired in terms of group morale. Other groups I have worked in the past got along extremely well, and it resulted in great synergy in our "day-to-day's" as well as during stressful/work-intensive times. My current group is primarily comprised of introverts that are pretty much "all business". The occasional "how's it going?" as you cross paths in the hallways is about as much conversation we have outside of meetings or other work-related gatherings. One other thing, from what I hear, the pay scale doesn't compare to the other hi-techs up in Seattle.

    Advice to Management

Work on group morale. It's your job to organize quarterly activities to build up on morale. Another thing, recognize the individual(s) when it is due. It keeps that individual(s)' morale going in the right direction when we know that our work (especially when something outstanding has been accomplished) is appreciated and recognized.
