I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Equipment is replaced every 3 years. Facilities are newer. Most management actually cares about their employees, all the way up to the regional director. They're very focused on keeping their employees safe. There's also a welcome distance kept between drivers and mechanics. There's a 4 day work week. Almost everyone in maintenance management started out working as a mechanic or a driver then moved up and you can too. They have discount programs with multiple nationwide company's like verizon, jeep, gm

    Cons

The pay is middle of the road and the benefits are a joke. Your required holidays come out of you're PTO and if you run out before a holiday expect a short paycheck. They are very strict when it comes to their standard repair times and they try to cut them down as often as they can. There's no overtime allowed. They often run out of soap and towels and won't order more until the month is out and anyone who has ever finished a dirty job can attest to the importance of being able to get clean.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more manufacturer based training. PTO should not go towards national holidays. And health benefits needs a major overhaul
