    I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    -Phenomenal job training through the initial structured training program, continued learning opportunities and the opportunity to work with so many other talented individuals
    -Excellent compensation
    -Great access to senior bankers
    -Given a large amount of responsibility even as an analyst

    Cons

    -Senior bankers are promoted solely based on ability to bring in revenue, not on actual leadership ability or managerial skill which tends to translate into work processes being inefficient (Maybe not specific to the firm, seems to be an issue in IB anywhere)
    -Work/life balance is nonexistent (again, generally an issue in IB at any firm)
    -Colleagues are hypercompetitive to an alarming degree

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Spend time streamlining and standardizing processes to eliminate inefficiencies in the pitch/deal process
    -Identify bankers with leadership ability early on and foster this
