I worked at John A. Logan College part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I like that John A. Logan College is SO very focused on the success of the students. Everything is available to them (testing center, computer labs, tutoring, etc.), it is a modern and most of the classrooms are well-equipped. The full-time JALC employees seem very happy and willing to help anyone they can.

    Cons

It is a tight knit group of employees, so many of them have been there for decades. It is VERY difficult to get hired as full-time instructor, they primarily use part-timers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I realize it is cheaper to use Adjunct Faculty, however the instruction suffers with a revolving door of instructors. JALC students and administration would get so much more out of instructors who are full-time, teaching the same course(s) from one semester to the next, and are around all day to better prepare and serve the students.
