Great pay, decent work load, free housing (UWM dorms) and transportation to work (40 min drive one way). Surprisingly large IT department and a brand new awesome IT building next to main corporate building. They have pumped a lot of money into their IT recently as they realized it is necessary to succeed. Lots of support from mentor and manager. Eventually leads to full time offer. Just started doing a "shark tank" competition where you present and idea to senior leadership with a team. They really strive to keep improving the internship and ask you a lot of questions about how it is going.
Project you get placed in is somewhat random and not always very impactful like they say it will be. I felt lucky to be busy on a cool project and I saw a lot of other interns being bored with their tasks and not being challenged. Not a lot of interesting application development in the corporate IT as it's more about upkeep. The cool stuff is created/coded mostly outside the US or in the CA office.
Advice to Management
Make sure to place people in projects that interest them and make sure everyone has enough to do.
