I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, flexible working (create your own diary), no micro management, long term potential for the company is vast

    Cons

Everything is broken (quoting, ordering, delivery, operations)
Have to call in favours left, right and centre to get even very basic things done
Everyone overworked, largely due to poor work efficiency
Very short term focused company often getting in the way of common sense
Its rare for Directors/VP/SVPs to 'really' understand the issue on the floor, its even less common for them to really feel empower to fix it for employees
Limited tangible investment in Cloud technologies, and exceptionally poor security portfilio
Product development time-lines are measured in years, not months or weeks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are loosing good people, who have tired from being a manual band aid. Consider a more radical approach to addressing the complexities in every day tasks. Sales targets need to be realistic or you will disengage whole teams.
