Opportunities abound for young female employees with advanced degrees, and a lack of consensus and empathy. "Keep in mind honey if you stay long enough you'll be burned too."
Where does one even begin? In a nut shell it's all about favoritism, sex, politics, that all add up to leverage for advancement. Whatever management does or doesn't do it is considered ethical by the company. Salaried employees are fired for the same acts that management engages in.
So where does that leave technology, products, and customer contracts. Somewhere, buried in a pile of all that is wrong with the dysfunctional environment on any program there is the work that gets done at an imperceptible ebb.
If a guy was hired right out of college and stays for more than 5 - 7 years he will be trapped into wasting his abilities, talents and life at a company who looks at engineers with grey hair as deadwood. Ageism is rampant.
Advice to Management
You won't notice it, but your position is twisting your mind into that of a warped, frustrated, elderly person. If you stay, you deserve what will become of you there.
