I worked at MomentumSI full-time (less than an year)Pros
1. You get to work with new technology. MomentumSI makes it's living by selling services to companies who do not have certain skill-sets. That means that they'll encourage you to learn the newest tech such as cloud based computing and devops tools.
2. If you like remote development, you'll love this company. They have an office, but no one goes there. Everyone meets in Sococo.
3. You'll meet some really bright people. It's a given since they have always perform on a deadline.Cons
Be ready to have almost zero support when in customer engagements. This is not for all projects, but since they are stretched out thin it can get hectic for everyone. This is normal for a consulting firm.
This company, and consulting firms in general, are not for people who wants to own the software they build or be know in the open-source community. Consulting firms often work with proprietary software and do not encourage open-source involvement.
The ability to travel is a must. Recruitment will tell you that consultants work in client sites at most 3 days out of the month. That's not true. You can be in engagements weeks at-a-time.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Make sure that what recruiters says to potential employees is what's really happening inside the company.Doesn't RecommendPositive Outlook
