Former Employee - Assistant Department Manager in Orlando, FL

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with. If you were a favorite/if your manager was lazy you could pretty much make your own schedule.

    Cons

A horrible atmosphere. I went through 2 store managers neither of them knew anything about how to run a business. They promoted people to management based off of favoritism, without even interviewing them. They then allowed department managers to get rid of good sellers by talking down to them.

The company at a corporate level continuously lied to their employees. They had plans to close the store almost a year beforehand yet didn't even give employees the full 60 day notice required by law.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It's too late now.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
