I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

Like any job you get what you put into it. Many people that I have heard complain dont put the effort in to get to their ultimate career goal. I have had a great manager that has been excellent with me. Ask for stretch assignments and there is a chance you will get that opportunity down the line. 9/80 schedule is awesome.

Get rid of all the dead weight. A good chunk of employees are on cruise control and management is always slow to get rid of the lazy people. They hate laying off employees unless its on a mass layoff basis. Any other company would immediately get rid of these people immediately if there is no work or they are not performing. In all departments i have seen its only 1 or 2 employees holding the whole department together. Lets get the 4/10 schedule going!

    Advice to Management

Give more young engineers stretch assignments, it made me stick around unfortunately others left the company because they did not get that opportunity.
