    I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time for more than 8 years


    Haven't worked more than 40 hours a week in a long time. Get your core hours in and you're good to go. 8-4/9-5 it's all the same.

    I'm also locked into the pension, but they've stopped that several years ago.


    Raises are non-existent. Whether you work your tail off or just skate on by you'll get a 1.5% raise and be told it's because that's all that's in the budget.

    Want a promotion? Good luck - even if you meet all the criteria, you have to hope your manager will go to bat for you and they can justify it to HR and find a billet to put you on. And even if you get a promotion the pay boost is minimal.

    Health Insurance? It was great 3-4 years ago but every year the co-pays go up, the benefits go down and good luck if you have a spouse.

    Politics - Tons of them. Better play nice with the right people or you'll never get ahead. Get ready to go to meetings that aren't even billable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay your employees their fair value. Get rid of a level or two of middle management that drain overhead and take away raise-pool money. Provide training to your employees. Value your employees that work hard.
